상담심리학을 전공하고 한국심리학회 상담심리사 1급(No.84)과 주수퍼바이저 자격을 취득하여 상담 전공생들을 지도하고 있다. 한국상담심리학회 부회장과 가톨릭대학교 상담심리대학원장을 역임했다.  긍정심리 특성이 심리적 고통 극복 과정에 미치는 영향에 대해 관심 갖고 연구하고 있다.  

모든 인간이 피할 수 없는 운명처럼 직면하게 되는 "고통 속에서도 신의 존재를 체험할 수 있고, 희망할 수 있는 가능성이 있는가?"를 살펴보는 일이 주요 연구 주제라 할 수 있다. 이는 종교의 유무와 관계 없이 인간이라면 누구나 한 번쯤 인생에서 고민하게 되는 주제이며, 이 고통의 순간을 어떻게 직면하고 이겨내는 지에 따라 누군가는 신의 존재를 확신하기도 하고, 누군가는 신의 부재 또는 죽음을 주장하기에 이르기도 한다. 그렇다면 그리스도교 신앙은 과연 이 (무죄한) 고통의 문제에 어떠한 긍정적 해석 전망을 제공할 수 있는지 성찰할 필요성이 있으며, 더 나아가 고통 속에서도 우리와 함께 아파하시는 사랑의 하느님의 현존을 발견할 수 있는 가능성을 제시할 수 있어야 할 것이다. 이러한 전망이야말로 현대 사회에서 그리스도교 신앙의 긍정적 가치를 증거할 수 있는 효과적인 선교 방법이 될 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 이유로 고통의 문제를 다루는 영화, 연극, 소설 등의 문학 장르에 대한 신학적 비평을 통해, 사람들이 보다 알기 쉽게 그리스도교에서 바라보는 고통의 의미에 대해 소개하려는 노력을 기울이고 있다.

The main research topic is examining the question if it is possible to experience the existence of God and have hope even in suffering. This is the topic that every human being, regardless of religion or not, ponders at least once in their lives. Depending on how they face and overcome this moment of pain, some may be convinced of the existence of God, while others may claim the absence or death of God. If so, there is a need to reflect on what kind of positive interpretive perspective the Christian faith can provide to this problem of (innocent) suffering, and furthermore, the possibility of discovering the presence of a loving God who suffers with us even in suffering. This outlook could be an effective missionary method that can testify to the positive value of the Christian faith in present society. For this reason, efforts are being made to introduce the meaning of suffering from a Christian perspective in a way that is easier for people to understand through theological criticism of literary genres such as movies, plays, and novels that deal with the issue of suffering.

주요 연구분야는 문화정책,  문화창조산업, 예술경영 분야이며 최근에 국가유산, 예술과 기술의 융합 분야로 연구영역을 확장하고 있다.  대학교에 오기 전에 한국문화관광연구원과 한국콘텐츠진흥원에서 정책연구자로 근무했다.  문화체육관광부, 지방자치단체, 공공문화기관의 문화정책 사업을 포함하여 예술과 문화영역에서 정책연구자, 정책컨설턴트로서 활동하고 있다.  2015년에는 한국예술경영학회 회장을 역임한 바 있다. 주요 저서로는 "창의적 문화사회와 문화정책"이 있다. 

His research focuses on the cultural policies, the cultural & creative industries,  the cultural management and more latterly the national heritage, the convergence of arts and technology. He worked as a cultural policy researcher in the Korea Culture & Tourism Institute, Korea Creative Content Agency. In addition, he has worked extensively as a policy researcher and consultant in the arts and cultural sector, including the cultural policy projects in the Ministry of Culture, local authorities, and public cultural organizations.  He was the president of Korean Association of Arts Management in 2015. He is the author of the book entitled "Cultural Policy in Creative Society".  

임현선 교수는 고려대학교 대학원에서 인적자원개발 전공으로 박사학위를 취득하였다. 주요 연구 분야는 청년 및 여성 경력개발로 청년 및 경력단절여성의 노동시장 진출과 경력 전환 지원 방안에 대해 관심을 갖고 있다. 주로 지도하는 교과목으로는 캡스톤디자인과 행정학과 현장실습이 있다. 또한, 사회혁신융복합전공 겸무교수로서 공공정책과 서비스디자인, ESG컨설팅 캡스톤디자인, 도시재생 캡스톤디자인, 취업준비와 사회진출 교과목을 강의하고 있다.
학생들이 자신의 역량을 최대한 발휘하고 원하는 분야에서 성공적으로 진출할 수 있도록 돕기 위해 공공기관 및 사회혁신 분야(사회적 기업 및 소셜벤처)나 민간기업에 진출하고자 하는 학생들의 진로 취업 상담을 하고 있다. 

Dr. Hyun Sun Lim is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Administration at the Catholic University of Korea. She earned a doctoral degree in Human Resource Development from the Graduate School of Korea University. 
Her primary research focuses on youth and women's career development, with a particular interest in strategies to facilitate the labor market entry and career transition of young individuals and women who have experienced career interruptions. She provides career counseling for students aspiring to enter public institutions, social innovation sectors (social enterprises and social ventures), and private companies, aiming to assist students in maximizing their potentials and successfully pursuing their desired careers in various fields.

고려대학교 경영학 학사, 동국대학교 문화경영MBA, 가톨릭대학교 경영학 박사 학위를 받았습니다. 
현재 Entrepreneurship과 경영학의 교육과 멘토링을 담당하고 있습니다. 학생들의 창업 과정을 지원하며, 스타트업의 성공 요인과 지속 가능한 성장 전략을 연구하고 있습니다.  특히, 유니콘(unicorn) 기업들의 비즈니스 모델을 깊이 있게 분석하여 새로운 비즈니스 기회를 탐색하는 것에 관심이 많습니다. 
앞으로 학생들의 창의적이고 혁신적인 사고를 북돋고, 효과적인 비즈니스 플랜 수립과 실행에 필요한 지식과 지혜를 전달하고자 합니다. 

I guide and support students in the realms of entrepreneurship and business administration, placing a strong emphasis on facilitating hands-on experiences through the startup journey. 
My research delves into the critical success factors of startups and strategies for their sustainable growth. 
I have a profound interest in thoroughly examining the business models and innovative strategies of unicorn companies, aiming to uncover new business opportunities from these analyses. 
Leveraging this research, my objective is to instill creative and innovative thinking in students, equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills to formulate and implement effective business plans.
