고기능성 생체 신소재의 설계와 개발을 통해 암, 당뇨병, 자가면역질환 등 다양한 난치성 질환의 치료를 위한 새로운 치료 전략을 모색하고 있습니다. 이를 위해 다양한 고분자와 세포를 화학적으로 변형하여 이들의 생체적합성, 생분해성, 치료제 전달 능력을 향상시키고, 생체 환경에 적응하는 스마트 소재를 설계합니다. 이러한 소재는 약물 전달과 조직 재생을 촉진하여 환자 맞춤형 치료에 기여할 수 있습니다. 본 연구는 화학, 생물학, 약학, 공학을 융합한 다학제적 접근으로 차세대 치료법 개발을 목표로 하고 있습니다.
We are seeking new therapeutic strategies for treating various intractable diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and autoimmune diseases by designing and developing high-functional biomaterials. To this end, we chemically modify various polymers and cells to improve their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and therapeutic agent delivery capabilities and design smart materials that adapt to the biological environment. These materials can contribute to patient-tailored treatment by promoting drug delivery and tissue regeneration. This research aims to develop next-generation treatments through a multidisciplinary approach that combines chemistry, biology, pharmacy, and engineering.
