서울대학교 전기정보공학부에서 학사와 박사 학위를 받았다. 박사과정에서는 대화 시스템, 멀티모달 표현 학습, 그리고 언어모델 평가의 신뢰성을 주제로 연구하여 ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, NeurIPS 등 인공지능·자연어처리 분야 주요 국제학술대회에 다수의 논문을 발표하였다. 2024년부터 2026년까지 LG AI Research EXAONE Lab에서 연구원으로 근무하며, 프론티어급 한국어 대규모 언어모델인 EXAONE 및 K-EXAONE 시리즈의 핵심 기여자(core contributor) 로 참여하였고 수십만 토큰 규모의 긴 문맥을 다루는 long-context 연구를 주도하였다. 2026년 8월부터 가톨릭대학교 인공지능학과 조교수로 재직하며 MINT 연구실을 이끌고 있다. 주요 연구 분야는 대규모 언어모델의 학습과 평가, 검색증강생성(RAG), LLM-as-a-Judge의 편향과 강건성, 그리고 신뢰할 수 있는 인공지능 시스템이다. 

He received his B.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Seoul National University. During his doctoral studies, he worked on dialogue systems, multimodal representation learning, and the reliable evaluation of language models, publishing at leading venues including ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, and NeurIPS. From 2024 to 2026, he was a researcher at the EXAONE Lab of LG AI Research, where he was a core contributor to EXAONE and K-EXAONE, a series of frontier-level Korean large language models, and led the lab's research on long-context modeling over hundreds of thousands of tokens. He joined the Department of Artificial Intelligence at The Catholic University of Korea as an Assistant Professor in August 2026, where he directs the MINT Lab (Machine Intelligence, Natural Language and Trustworthiness). His research focuses on the training and evaluation of large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, the biases and robustness of LLM-as-a-Judge, and trustworthy AI systems.
