신유진 교수는 인공지능 및 머신러닝 알고리즘을 개발하여 다양한 application에 적용하고 있다. 특히, MRI, EHR 등 의료 도메인의 Image나 tablet데이터를 통해 medical features를 발굴하거나, 딥러닝 모델을 개발하여 질병의 진단 및 예후를 예측하는 연구를 활발히 진행중이다. 그 외, 주로 센서를 통해 수집된 시계열 데이터 가운데 이상치를 탐지하는 연구나 병변가운데 악성을 찾아내는 연구등을 수행중에 있으며, 머신 언러닝 분야에도 새롭게 기여하고 있다. 
SCIE 및 컴퓨터공학분야 Top conference인 KDD, CIKM, WWW 등에 매해 논문을 게재하고 있으며, CIKM의 ANSD국제학회를 의장으로써 개최한 바 있다. 최근에는 대검찰청과 함께 검찰의 업무에 AI적용하는 과제를 수주하는 등 다양한 산업분야에서 AI의 적용방법론을 개발하는데 기여하고 있다.

Professor Youjin Shin is at the forefront of developing artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, applying them to a wide range of applications. Her research is particularly focused on the medical AI field, where she actively works on discovering critical features from medical data such as MRI images and EHRs, and on developing deep learning models to predict disease diagnosis and prognosis. Additionally, she is heavily involved in research on detecting anomalies in time series data collected through sensors and identifying malignancies in lesions. She is also contributing to the emerging field of machine unlearning.
Professor Shin regularly publishes her work in top-tier conferences such as KDD, CIKM, and WWW, which are among the leading venues in the SCIE and computer engineering fields. She has also served as the chair of the ANSD international conference at CIKM. Recently, she has made significant contributions to the development of AI application methodologies across various industries, including leading a project with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office to apply AI to their work.

가톨릭대학교 학부대학 소속 교수이며, 주로 문학작품이 인간의 내적 성장에 미치는 영향에 대해 관심을 두고 있다. 
연세대학교 중어중문학과에서 고전시가 전공으로 수학하며 「唐宋 禪詩의 心象 活用에 관한 연구」로 박사학위를 취득하였고, 중국사회과학원(中国社会科学院, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) 문학연구소에서 방문학자로 근무하며 문예학/미학 분야로 연구의 지평을 확장하였다.
고려대장경연구소 및 가톨릭대학교 글로벌인문경영연구소에서 융복합 연구 과제를 수행한 바 있으며, 한국중어중문학회, 한국교양교육학회, 한국수사학회, 동아시아고대학회, 대한중국학회, 한국동아시아과학철학회, 한국중국문학이론학회의 임원을 역임하였다.
주요 저서 및 논문으로는 『위대한 수사학 고전들』(공저),『글로벌 문화와 인문경영』(공저),『글로벌 평화와 인문경영철학』(공저),「고통과 극복의 시적 체현」, 「한중 선시 속 불이 관념과 갈등 해소를 위한 제언」, 「선종 문예 심미와 인성 교육에 관한 소고」 등이 있다.

Shin Eui-sun:
She is a professor in the College of General Education at the Catholic University of Korea. Her main interests are in the impact of literary works on human internal growth. She majored in classical poetry at Yonsei University’s Department of Chinese Language and Literature and received her doctorate in “A Study on the Use of Mental Images of the Tang and Song Zen Poetry.” She expanded her research horizons as a visiting scholar in literary science and aesthetics at the Institute of Literature, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
She has participated in interdisciplinary research projects at the Tripitaka Koreana Research Institute and the Global Humanities and Management Research Institute at Catholic University. Additionally, has been actively involved in various academic societies, including the Korean Association of Chinese Language and Literature, The Korean Society of Liberal Arts Education, the Rhetoric Society of Korea, the Association of East Asian Ancient Studies, the Korean Association for Chinese Studies etc.
Her notable publications and papers include “Great Rhetoric Classics” (co-author), “Poetic Embodiment of Sufferings and Restoration,” “The Non-Duality in Korean and Chinese Zen Poetry and Suggestions for Conflict Resolution”, “Study on Aesthetic Appreciation of Zen Literature and Moral Education” etc.

2021년부터 가톨릭대학교 식품영양학과 조교수로 재직 중이다. 2021년 이전에는 The Hong Kong Polytechnic University에서 조교수로 재직했다. The Pennsylvania State University에서 박사학위를 받았으며 서울대학교에서 석사, 학사 학위를 받았다. 주요 연구분야는 식품 심리와 소비자행동이다.

Joongwon Shin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition at the Catholic University of Korea. Prior to joining the Catholic University of Korea in 2021, she served as Assistant Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She received her Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State university and her master's and bachelor's degrees from Seoul National University. Her research primarily focuses on food psychology and consumer behavior. 

서울대 사회학과에서 학사, 석사를 받았으며, 서울대 행정대학원에서 대통령과 의회 관계 연구로 박사학위를 받았다. 경향신문 기자, 국정홍보처와 문화체육관광부에서 사무관으로 근무했다. 2017년 9월부터 가톨릭대 행정학과 교수로 재직 중이다. 민주화 이후 한국 대통령의 국정운영을 제도적 관점에서 연구하고 있다. 대통령이 의회, 관료제, 언론/대중과 어떻게 상호작용하는지에 대한 연구논문을 다수 발표했다. 이밖에 근대국가 성립 이후 관료제 형성과 관료제의 국가간 비교연구에 관심을 갖고 있다. 이를 바탕으로 ‘좋은 정부’에 대한 근대적 사유로서 행정학의 정체성에 대해 고민하고 있다. 

He received his B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from Seoul National University (SNU) and earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Public Administration at the same institution. His dissertation analyzed the relationship between the president and the National Assembly following democratization. He has worked as a reporter for Kyunghyang Shinmun and served as a civil servant at the Government Information Agency and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Since September 2017, he has been a professor of public administration at the Catholic University of Korea. His research focuses on the management of the state by presidents after democratization, viewed from the perspective of institutional actors. He has published several research papers on how presidents interact with parliament, the bureaucracy, and the media/public. He is also interested in the development of bureaucracy since the establishment of the modern state and in cross-national comparative studies of bureaucracy. Based on this, he is exploring the identity of public administration as a modern idea of “good government”. 

주요 학문적 관심사는 영어교육, AI 기반 영어학습, 세계영어, 한국 언어 공동체 내 이중언어주의 등이다. 2003년 미국의 University of Texas at Austin에서 ESL 교실에서의 의미 협상에 대한 논문으로 박사학위를 받았으며, 이후 2006년부터 가톨릭대학교 영어영문학부에서 교육과 연구 활동을 이어오고 있다. 학문적 연구뿐 아니라 고등학교 영어 교과서 집필에 참여하고 다수의 영어시험 출제 및 검토위원으로 활동하는 등 영어교육 현장에서 다양한 역할을 수행하며 이론과 실제의 접목을 통해 영어교육 발전에 기여하고 있다.

My primary academic interests include English language teaching, AI-powered English language learning, world Englishes, and bilingualism within the Korean language community. I received my Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin in 2003, with a dissertation on meaning negotiation in the ESL classroom. Since 2006, I have been teaching and conducting research in the Department of English Language and Literature at The Catholic University of Korea. Beyond my academic research, I have contributed to the field of English education by writing high school English textbooks and serving on committees that develop and review test items for major English exams. Through these roles, I aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice in English education.
