서울대학교 전기정보공학부에서 학사와 박사 학위를 받았다. 박사과정에서는 대화 시스템, 멀티모달 표현 학습, 그리고 언어모델 평가의 신뢰성을 주제로 연구하여 ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, NeurIPS 등 인공지능·자연어처리 분야 주요 국제학술대회에 다수의 논문을 발표하였다. 2024년부터 2026년까지 LG AI Research EXAONE Lab에서 연구원으로 근무하며, 프론티어급 한국어 대규모 언어모델인 EXAONE 및 K-EXAONE 시리즈의 핵심 기여자(core contributor) 로 참여하였고 수십만 토큰 규모의 긴 문맥을 다루는 long-context 연구를 주도하였다. 2026년 8월부터 가톨릭대학교 인공지능학과 조교수로 재직하며 MINT 연구실을 이끌고 있다. 주요 연구 분야는 대규모 언어모델의 학습과 평가, 검색증강생성(RAG), LLM-as-a-Judge의 편향과 강건성, 그리고 신뢰할 수 있는 인공지능 시스템이다. 

He received his B.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Seoul National University. During his doctoral studies, he worked on dialogue systems, multimodal representation learning, and the reliable evaluation of language models, publishing at leading venues including ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, and NeurIPS. From 2024 to 2026, he was a researcher at the EXAONE Lab of LG AI Research, where he was a core contributor to EXAONE and K-EXAONE, a series of frontier-level Korean large language models, and led the lab's research on long-context modeling over hundreds of thousands of tokens. He joined the Department of Artificial Intelligence at The Catholic University of Korea as an Assistant Professor in August 2026, where he directs the MINT Lab (Machine Intelligence, Natural Language and Trustworthiness). His research focuses on the training and evaluation of large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, the biases and robustness of LLM-as-a-Judge, and trustworthy AI systems.

서울대학교에서 경영학 학사(1992년), 석사(1994년), 박사(2000년) 학위를 취득하였다. 정보통신 분야 정부 출연 연구기관인 한국전자통신연구원(ETRI)과 정보통신정책연구원(KISDI)에서 정책 및 전략 연구를 7년 간 수행한 경력이 있다. 2014년에는 Florida State University에서 Visiting Scholar로 활동하였다. 주요 연구 분야는 서비스 마케팅, 하이테크 마케팅, 사회적 기업 등이며, 연구 성과는 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SPORTS MARKETING & SPONSORSHIP, INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ELECTRONIC COMMERCE, ACADEMY OF MARKETING STUDIES JOURNAL 등의 학술지에 게재되었다.

He received his BA (1992), MA (1994), and PhD (2000) degrees in Business Administration from Seoul National University. He has seven years of experience conducting policy and strategy research at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) and the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI). In 2014, he stayed at Florida State University as a Visiting Scholar. His main research areas include service marketing, high-tech marketing, and social enterprise, and his research results have been published in academic journals such as INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF SPORTS MARKETING & SPONSORSHIP, INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ELECTRONIC COMMERCE, and ACADEMY OF MARKETING STUDIES JOURNAL.

인공지능 분야의 자연어처리 방법론 및 의료 데이터 분석을 주로 연구하고 있다. 2021년 고려대학교에서 키워드 추출 및 네트워크 분석 연구로 박사학위를 받았으며 2022년부터 가톨릭대학교 컴퓨터정보공학부에서 지능형데이터분석학 연구실을 운영하고 있다.

We are mainly researching natural language processing methodology and medical data analysis for artificial intelligence. I was awarded a PhD degree in keyword extraction and network analysis research from Korea University in 2021, and has been operating an intelligent data analytics laboratory at the School of Computer Science and Information Engineering at The Catholic University of Korea since 2022.

서울대학교 중어중문학과를 졸업하고 같은 대학원에서 석사, 박사 학위를 받았다. 1990년부터 가톨릭대학교 교수로 재직하고 있으며, 2000년 베이징의 중국사회과학원에서 방문학자로 다녀온 바 있다. 한국중국학회 회장을 역임하였으며 현재 한국중국언어문화연구회 회장을 맡고 있다. 중국현대소설이 전공이며  특히 1930년대 대표적인 소설가인 라오서에 대해 주로 연구하고 있다. 이 외에 중국현대문학 및 대중문화, 중국영화 등에 대해서도 관심을 갖고 있다. 논문으로 ｢｢초승달｣과 ｢햇살｣에 나타난 여성의 비극｣, ｢50년대 라오서 문학의 변신-  ｢한국전쟁과 유명해진 무명고지｣를 중심으로｣ 등이 있으며 옮긴 책으로 ｢문학과 정치｣(공역), ｢남자의 반은 여자｣, ｢이혼｣ 등이 있다.

김인설 교수는 가톨릭대학교 공연예술문화학과 예술경영 전공 주임교수이다. 미국 University of Akron에서 예술행정학으로 석사를, The Ohio State University에서 문화정책/예술경영학으로 박사학위를 받았다. 이후 한국문화관광연구원 부연구위원, 전남대학교 문화전문대학원 부교수를 역임 후, 학과가 설립 된 2021년부터 가톨릭대학교에서 재직해 왔다. 주로 문화예술질적연구방법론, 문화정책개론, 문화예술경영학, 예술치유세미나, 문화트렌드와 예술기획, 문화예술교육세미나 등을 가르치고 있으며, 예술을 통해 사회 문제를 새롭게 해석하고 이를 통해 사회가 긍정적인 방향으로 발전할 수 있는 주제들을 연구한다. 문화정책 및 예술경영 관련 주요 학회 이사 및 학술지 편집위원으로 활동하고 있으며, 다양한 문화예술공공기관 및 정부의 연구과제들을 수행해 왔다. 문화정책과 거버넌스, 예술경영, 예술교육, 예술치유, 문화복지 등 예술을 통해 창출할 수 있는 사회자본 및 예술의 사회적 역할과 가치가 주요 관심사이다. 

Prof. InSul Kim currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Performing Arts & Culture and as a professor specializing in Arts Management at The Catholic University of Korea. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Korea, followed by a Master's in Arts Administration from the University of Akron and a Ph.D. in Cultural Policy & Arts Administration from The Ohio State University, USA. After serving as an associate research fellow at the Korea Culture & Tourism Institute and as an associate professor at Chonnam National University, Prof. Kim joined the Catholic University of Korea since the department's inception in 2021. Currently, she is on the editorial board of several major domestic academic journals in cultural policy & arts management and has carried out various government projects as a principal investigator. Her research interests focus on critical cultural policy studies, with an emphasis on cultural democracy and its role in creating social bonds and intimacy in various sets of communities. 
She is also interested in how art can be used as an alternative form to reflect social problems, initiate civic engagement, and produce social capital.
