영어영문학부 조교수이다. 미국 퍼듀 대학교 (Purdue University)에서 박사학위를 받았다. 2019년부터 가톨릭대학교 영어영문학부에서 근무하고 있으며, 시대에 맞는 신규 과목을 개발, 개설하며 교육에 힘쓰고 있다.  19세기 영국문학, 여행기, 디스토피안 문학, 탈식민주의, 타자화와 재현의 문제, 에코크리티시즘, 서사와 스토리텔링 분야에 관심을 두고 연구를 진행하고 있다. 영미권 여행자들이 집필한 동아시아 여행기들을 중심으로 잊혀졌던 작품들을 재발굴하고, 이를 제국과 식민주의의 글로벌한 맥락에서 분석, 재평가하는 작업을 수행하여, 이자벨라 버드 (Isabella Bird), 루디야드 키플링 (Rudyard Kipling)의 저작에 대한 논문과 "대한매일신보"의 영국인 창립자이자 편집인이었던 어니스트 베델 (Ernest T. Bethell)에 대한 논문을 A & HCI 등재지에 게재하였다. 현재 식민지 조선을 배경으로 하는 영국 소설에 대한 논문을 작업중이다. 이와 더불어 디스토피안 문학과 젠더, 환경, 테크놀로지를 연계한 연구를 통해 영문학에 대한 논의에 깊이를 더하고자 한다. 국내 영문학회에서 정보이사, 편집이사로 활동하며 영어영문학 발전에 기여하고자 노력하고 있다. 

I acquired my PhD in English literature at Purdue University. My area of interest includes: 19th century British literature, travelogues, dystopian literature, post-colonialism, ecocriticism, and the problem of representation. I have published papers on British travelogues on East Asia, the political role Ernest T. Bethell, the British founder and editor of the Daehan Maeil Shinbo, played in reserving a rhetorical space from which Koreans could resist colonialism. I am currently working on an article on a largely forgotten British novel set in colonial Korea, analyzing the author’s genre-meshing techniques and delving into its effects. I have also published articles about dystopian novels and ecocritical literature, including the works of Richard Jefferies, Katherine Burdekin, Ken Liu, and episodes from Charles Brooker's Black Mirror series, specifically focusing on the ways in which gender, environment, and technology shape the lives of humans and our ways of thinking. 

1985년 연세대학교 전자공학과 졸업하였고 1988년과 1993년 미국 Syracuse 대학 Computer 공학과에서 공학석사와 공학박사 학위를 받았다. 박사학위 주제는 CAM(Content-addressable memory)을 이용한 global routing 알고리즘을 제안하였으며 CAM의 병렬처리 및 검색 기능을 이용하여 반도체 설계의 후공정 단계인 전역배선 문제를 다루었다. 1991년에서 1993년까지 미국 Coherent Research Inc.에서 VLSI Design Engineer로 근무 하였으며 학위를 마치고 1994년부터 1998년까지 현대전자 System IC 연구소에서 책임연구원으로 근무하며 다양한 MCU 기반 ASIC을 설계하였다. 1998년부터 현재까지 가톨릭대학교 정보통신전자공학부 교수로 근무하고 있으며 주관심 분야는 VLSI 및 디지털시스템 설계, CAD, 병렬처리, 임베디드시스템 분야이다. 현재까지 주로 신호처리, 통신, 자율주행 관련 기술분야에 필요한 다양한 알고리즘에 대한 효율적인 디지털시스템 설계에 대한 연구를 진행하여 다수의 논문을 게재하였다.

He graduated from Department of Electronics Engineering, Yonsei University in 1985 and received his master's and Ph.D. degree from Computer engineering department, Syracuse University in 1988 and 1993. The subject of his doctoral degree was to propose a global routing algorithm using CAM (Content-addressable memory), and dealt with the problem of global wiring, which is the post-process stage of semiconductor design, using CAM's parallel processing and search functions. He worked as a VLSI Design Engineer at Coherent Research Inc. in the United States from 1991 to 1993, and after completing his degree, he worked as a lead researcher at Hyundai Electronics System IC Research LAB from 1994 to 1998, designing various MCU-based ASICs. From 1998 to the present, he has been a professor of information, communication, and electronic engineering at The Catholic University of Korea, and his subjective fields are VLSI and digital system design, CAD, parallel processing, and embedded systems. To date, a number of papers have been published by conducting research on the efficient design of digital systems for various algorithms required in the technology fields related to signal processing, communication, and autonomous driving. 

세법(국세분야) 및 세무회계에 관심을 가지고 연구 및 강의를 담당하고 있다. 2002년 고려대학교 경영대학에서 '이연법인세와 추가적 이익조정에 관한 연구'로 경영학 박사학위를 받았다. 1991년부터 2004년까지 삼일회계법인 등 국내 회계법인에서 공인회계사/세무사로서 감사 및 세법분야의 실무경험을 쌓았고, 2004년부터 가톨릭대학교 회계학과에 부임하여 현재까지 재직하고 있다. 그간 교내에서는 기획부처장, 기획처장 등을 역임하였으며, 현재는 경영대학원장으로 봉사하고 있다. 교외활동으로는 서울지방국청 국세심사위원, 국세청국세심사위원, 조세심판원 비상임위원 등 세법분야에서 주로 활동하였으며  한국세무학회, 조세법학회, 조세포럼 등 조세관련 학회의 부회장직을 역임하였다. 그외 디자인진흥원 비상임감사, 기획재정부 공기업경영평가위원, 방송통신사업자선정 심사위원, 경기도 공기업 경영평가위원 등을 역임하였다. 현재 신한투자증권 사외이사(감사위원장)로 재직 중이며, KT&G 복지재단/재단법인 포항산업과학연구(RIST)/재단법인 국립오페라단 비상임감사 등 주로 비영리법인 관련분야에서 사회에 봉사하고 있다. 

He is interested in tax law and tax accounting and is in charge of research and lectures. In 2002, he obtained a Ph.D. in business administration from Korea University. From 1991 to 2004, he gained practical experience in the audit and tax fields as a CPA at big 4 accounting firms such as Samil Accounting Firm, and from 2004, he was appointed to the Department of Accounting at Catholic University and has been serving until now. He has served as the head of the budget & planning department on campus, and is currently serving as the head of the business academy. As out of campus activities, he has worked mainly in the tax law field, including the National Tax Review Committee,  the Tax Tribunal's non-executive member, and served as a vice chairman at tax-related societies such as the Korean Tax Association, the Tax Law Association, and the Tax Forum. He has served as a non-executive auditor of the Korea Design Promotion Agency, a public enterprise management evaluation committee member of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, a broadcasting and telecommunications business operator selection evaluation committee, and is currently serving as an outside director (chairman of the audit committee) at Shinhan Investment & Securities. In addition, he is a non-executive auditor of the KT&G Welfare Foundation/Foundation Pohang Industrial Science Research Institute(RIST).

융합교육, 창의적 문제해결력 교육으로 박사학위를 받았으며 가톨릭대학교 학부대학 교수로 재직하고 있다.  기반개념을 중심으로 한 과학과 인문학의 통합 교육 방안 설계, NGSS형으로 과학과 교육과정 재설계 연구, 지속가능발전교육(ESD) 사회문제 해결형 수업모델 개발 연구, 문이과 통합형 과학과 교육과정 재구조화 연구, 학습자 상호작용을 강화한 I4MAT 모델의 개발 및 적용 연구, 융합역량 관련 변인 간 구조적 관계 분석 연구 등을 수행하였다. 주요 연구분야는  교양교육, 과학교육, 학제간 교육, 교사교육이다.

She earned a doctorate in convergence education and creative problem-solving education from the Department of Science Education and has been serving as a professor at The Catholic University of Korea. Her research includes  'Design of Educational Framework for Science-Humanities Integration Based on Big Ideas', 'Research on Redesign of Science Curriculum as NGSS', 'ESD Instruction Module Development for Solving Social Problems', 'Redesign of Integrated Science Curriculum',  'The Development and Implementation of I4MAT Focused on Learners' Interaction' and 'The Analysis of the Structural Relationships among Variables Related to Convergence Competency'. Her main research areas are liberal arts education, science education, interdisciplinary education, and teacher education.
